22 June - Down Day Today, Cubs Win!

Took it easy today.  Updated the blog this morning.  Backed up our vacation files and photos taken since we left onto a portable hard drive after my scare last night.  Doreen did some cleaning, working on to-do's for the next few destinations.  We also worked the plan for our two weekend visits to downtown SF.  Saturday we have reserved a GoCar for sightseeing around downtown San Francisco.

 We will be able to cover a lot of ground with it on our timeline, stop when we want and skip what we don't want.  Should be a lot of fun too.  Sunday we have the Giants game.  At the same time there is an LGBTQ festival downtown, just like there was last year when we were going to the Pirates game, so downtown SF will be crazy on Sunday.

This afternoon we watched the Cubs beat up on the Miami Marlins and grilled outside.  Later we took Liberty on a long walk.  There sure is a lot of wildlife around this base.  Just on this walk we saw the usual 150 or so geese around the pond and were within 20ft of a mamma and papa turkey and five babies.  They one by one flew up into a pine tree and Doreen thought that was hilarious.  She had never seen a turkey in a tree!

Just beyond the turkeys was a young deer standing about 20 yards from Doreen and I in a field.  We were separated by a fence, but we were still very close.  I was proud of Doreen as she did not freak out.  Cool and calmly kept walking the dog.

Tomorrow we will drive to Vallejo and do some shopping.  All is well!!
