15 June
Laid back day. Got back late last night so slept in a bit, updated blog, did RV chores, etc. Doreen wanted to do a couple loads of laundry so we ventured over to the Commissary/BX area. WOW! What a nice area here at Travis Air Force Base. There is an entire area that looks like a mall and has a post office, UPS store, an urgent care clinic, a pharmacy, clothing sales, Subway, laundromat, optometrist, Class Six (liquor store) and many other shops. Now we kind of have one-stop shopping. Nice! So Doreen loaded up a couple wash machines then we walked around the mall area. After the clothes were transferred to the dryers we headed over to the Commissary to pick up a few groceries. I picked a couple thick pork chops for the grille tonight. Once the laundry was done we headed back to the campground, unloaded out bootie and relaxed a bit before cooking dinner. After dinner we took Liberty for a stroll through the campground and talked to some folks who also have a Jayco RV.
Interesting trees we have here. They dramatically shed their bark all over the ground. Huge pieces of bark.
So talking with one of the locals we met he said, oh yeah, those are eucalyptus trees! Sure enough, I grabbed one of the leaves and folded it over several times and the aroma was amazing!
Hot day today. Over 100 degree temps today here. We have been monitoring our next location, Petaluma, and the temps run about 15 degrees cooler there, likely because of proximity to the coast.
Tomorrow we will hit Napa again and a couple wineries. Saturday we head to Dublin to drop off the dog and then to the A's baseball game.
