9 Sep - Last Day at Superior WI, Workday

9 Sep
Today is out last day at the Northland Camping and RV Park just outside Superior WI.  Tomorrow we head basically east through the northern part of Wisconsin into the Michigan Upper Peninsula and the eastern time zone - first time for this trip!
Our destination is not an RV park.  We are headed to a resort that is owned by a retired Des Moines Airport firefighter Carl Panveno and his wife Tonya in the town of Silver City near Ontonagon MI.  They don't have RV hookups, but can provide us a standard 110VAC plug and water.   This will be interesting as we have never attempted to camp with only a 15A or 20A power service.  Our sewer storage tanks are not a worry as we are only going to be there two nights.  Water is not a concern as we have on-board water storage.  We will just have to budget our power usage carefully!

So in preparation for our departure tomorrow, today was a work day.  As we have discussed before, life on the road is similar to life at home.  Sometimes you have to stop what you are doing and do maintenance and cleaning, and that is what today was.  The list had been growing so today was it!
- Wash the RV
- Wash the truck
- Vacuum the truck
- Flush the black RV tank thoroughly and empty
- Measure propane tank levels, fill if needed
- Do all laundry
- Vacuum the RV end to end
- Swiffer the RV vinyl floors
- Clean and stow the barbecue grill
- Stow the RV tire covers
- Go into town and fill truck with diesel

In addition to those items, today was the Iowa vs Iowa State football game AND the Cubs played the Brewers.  So we started early and knocked out as much as we could.  After lunch we started in on it again while recording both the Iowa game and the Cubs game.  The Cubs game was a runaway and was not really worth watching, but the Iowa-Iowa State game went into overtime and we watched the end of it.

We also had on the list for today to visit the police and fire museum in Superior and to head back east and look at a water fall, but we both "ran out of gas" after knocking out our work list and we just stayed here.  It has been a great stay here at Superior.  We saw nearly everything we wanted to see, really enjoying everything involved with the Great Lakes, lighthouses, ships and maritime history.

Next report, Silver City MI!
