This morning we headed a few miles south and met up with Ernie and Elaine for breakfast. There was a great cafe next to their hotel called Meli Cafe and Pancake House. We had a fantastic breakfast, in fact I brought half of mine back to the RV for tomorrow! Ernie was heading back to Ohio, and Elaine was headed to Milwaukee to visit a few of her company's customers and then to Fondulac WI for a wedding. We said goodbye to them and then back to the RV to put things away so we can bug out first thing tomorrow and head to our next destination - Fort McCoy Campground near Tomah WI.
Doreen worked inside while I worked outside and as the day progressed, so did the temperatures. High today was supposed to top 91F. I worked up a good sweat so I showered and rested a bit, then we headed back to Yogi Bear campgrounds to join Keith and Michelle and their camping group for supper. We bought some sweet corn at a stand along the way and had burgers with them there. After a campfire and a small medical emergency (Jon banged his head in the grill while chasing a glow stick), we said our goodbyes to Michelle and family and their camping group and drove back to the RV. The Cubs are playing the Brewers again tonight, so we are watching it on TV as I update this entry.
Tomorrow morning we will pull chocks and head for Fort McCoy Campground. We will be there until the morning of 26 Sept when we head for the Minneapolis/St Paul area to finish up our trip.
Geez the time has flown by. It does not seem possible this journey is about over! But we have a lot yet to do and people to see!! Looking forward to it!
