13 Sep - Fishing and Dinner with Greg and Diane Noskowiak

13 Sep
I met Greg at his house this morning at about 0800 hrs and we hopped in his truck with his boat in tow and headed for Moose Lake Boat Launch.  Doreen stayed back in the RV today to catch up with her projects.
Moose Lake is not far from Antigo so we arrived quickly and got the boat in the water
Nice, lightweight boat easy to launch and recover

Loose Lake was like a piece of glass this morning!

Greg at the helm, trying to steer us on some fish!
Fishing was pretty slow, but we had a great time talking about everything under the sun.  As the sun came up so did the temps and we shed our sweatshirts quickly.
The trees are turning and reflecting in the motionless water, but this picture does not capture the full beauty.

We om;y used a trolling motor here as there was no current and no wind.
We kept after it until about 1100 hrs and then headed in to the dock to recover the boat.  We stopped by a local tavern owned by Greg's cousin and we were introduced.  We then headed to an acreage that Greg has access to for hunting and his garden.  It is owned by a buddy of his and Greg has helped him build deer stands and a cabin, plus Greg does some mowing and other tasks since he is retired and available.
The hunting lodge Greg helped to build

Greg's garden.  He harvested some onions and cucumbers for us to take back to the RV.

Sunflowers over 12 ft tall.
After the tour on his quad, we headed back to Antigo.  We had been invited to Greg and Diane's for lasagna dinner tonight, so I headed back to the RV, stopping by the car wash to clean the bugs off the truck, from the drive down yesterday.  Doreen did some general cleanup at the RV, took the dog for a walk and make some of her award-winning salsa while I was gone.

About 1600 hrs Doreen and I headed back to their house where we met two of their grandchildren.  Diane was home from work and we sat around and talked, catching up on what our families have been up to.  Later we enjoyed a great lasagna dinner with salad, bread and some wine and then headed back to the RV.  Greg and I plan to fish again tomorrow at a different lake.  Good times!!!
Doreen and Diane.  Great picture!
