We departed the Cliffside campground near Racine WI at 08:36 hrs this morning and headed north and west on I-94/I-90 to Fort McCoy Army National Guard Total Force Training Center near Tomah WI.
This is the location of our 29th stop on this journey, Pine View Campground.
Just a few miles before we turned off I-94 we passed Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC). When I was in the Air Guard we used to deploy to Volk Field frequently for military exercises and inspections. I counted once and I believe I spent about nine birthdays there, over my 42+ year military career! Volk Field is one of four Air Guard CRTC's: Volk Field WI, Alpena MI, Savannah GA, Gulfport MS.

We arrived at Pine View Campground at 12:36 hrs, exactly four hours later with just one stop and 204 miles.

We are only going to be here until Tuesday morning, but for families staying longer, the list of amenities is endless! They have paddle boats, canoes and kayaks; a huge sand beach, fishing, paintball and laser tag, shooting ranges and archery, disc golf, biking trails, miniature golf, shuffle board, washer toss, bean bags, playgrounds, horse shoes, kickball and basketball.
Our primary targets for our stay here include the Cran-Fest in Warrens WI, just north of here and a stop at one of Doreen's favorite places, the Burr Oak Winery in New Lisbon WI to resupply with cranberry wine!
This year is the 45th anniversary of Cran Fest. They boast over 1300 booths, 850 arts and crafts and 350 are flee market and antiques. They offer cranberry bog tours and a tour through the cranberry museum and many other venues. Should be interesting.
