17 May
Today we ran a few errands in the morning in the local area.  After lunch we met with Brad and Beth Herren and toured around the Air Force Academy.    What a beautiful facility!
We started at the Visitor Center and took in the movie that describes th first year of attendance.  They also have a nice inside display including uniforms and even a cadet's barracks room, and finished up in the souvenir shop.  Then we visited the iconic Chapel.

Outside the Chapel is a memorial wall, dedicated to AFA graduates that have given the ultimate sacrifice.  One of them, Capt David A. Wisniewski served with our son-in-law James in Afghanistan, and Beth found his name plate very quickly.
There are many static displays on the premise.  We stopped to see the B-52, F16, T-38 and A-10.  Beth also found a display of the aircraft her father piloted.

We then came back to the campground so Brad and Beth could see it and we headed into town to grab some supper.

Tomorrow, weather and roads permitting, we are headed to Pueblo to have lunch with Bill and Linda Callison.  Bill and I used to work together at the Iowa Department of Public Safety Communications 1977-1984.  They attended my military retirement at Camp Dodge in July 2015.
