17 July - Travel Plan Change, Visit from Doreen's Cousin and Out to Eat

17 July
Hung around here this morning.  Cleaned a bit.  Called Lippert on hiccup with levelers when we set up here.  First time we've had any leveler issues this trip, I believe.  Cleaned front cap bugs, etc.  We did not have neighbors to either side until later and then both pulled in.  These camp sites are way too close together.
Our camp site with the sites on both sides vacant...then.  They are occupied now.
Not good, not good at all.  We can go inside and we are perfectly comfortable, but it is nice to be able to sit outside and watch a ball game under the awning.  Check out the proximity of our neighbor's sewer hose connection and our folding chairs.  Nasty!!  It's only $20/night, but lucky there is a good breeze.......
Sewer hose coming out of our neighbor's RV and enters the sewer connection circled in red, right next to our lawn chairs.
Doreen and I talked a bit about our travels and we both agreed the longer days traveling with the RV are unacceptable.  So, change# 2 to the 2017 Northwest Trip travel plan:  We inserted a stop between our current location and Ft Harrison near Helena MT.  We are stopping at St Regis MT at the Nugget RV Park for two nights and leaving here two days early.  All dates at Ft Harrison and all future points remains the same.  The new plan:
- #16 Clear Lake Rec Area (where we are now) was 16 Jul - 1 Aug, now 16-30 Jul
- Add #17 Nugget RV Park St Regis MT 30 Jul - 1 Aug
- #18 Ft Harrison, Helena MT remains unchanged at 1-6 Aug and all points east remain unchanged.
This afternoon Doreen's cousin Gary Schwandt stopped out the the RV park to see us and check out our RV.  We stayed here and chatted a bit and then headed towards Spokane and had dinner at a local Mexican restaurant.  Gary is from the Boston area with homes in Cape Cod and Florida.  Gary is up here visiting his parents, Doreen's aunt Phyllis and uncle Bob Schwandt.  Many of you have heard us refer to "uncle Bob", one of the smartest guys I have ever met.  We saw his son Gary and Gary's wife last year at Cape Cod while we were staying at Fourth Cliff, south of Boston.

Tomorrow we are having lunch with a comrade from the Iowa Air Guard, Mike Fassler, who now lives in Liberty Lake WA not far from Spokane.  Then we will visit Bob and Phyllis in the nursing home where they live in Coeur d'Alene ID.

  1. I can't believe how small those sites are, and looks like no trees! Not much room to relax!
